THE HARRISON CENTRE

The Harrison Centre for Social Mobility is part of the Harrison Foundation, a privately ran charitable foundation. Founded by David and Sylvia Harrison and their son Daniel, its intention is to help make a measurable difference to young people’s lives. The work of the Harrison Centre for Social Mobility is inspired by the growth of practical philanthropy during the Industrial Revolution. Now the centre works in areas that David believes can make a difference to social mobility, including grassroots sport.

The Harrison Foundation also supports the Beacon of Light in Sunderland, the most innovative sports and education facility and the first of its kind in the UK. It opened in summer 2018 and netted £80,000 investment from the Harrison Centre.
